Quincy Main Street and Havana Main Street are collaborating to host the 4^th Annual “Painting in the Shade,” a three-day Plein Air painting event that will highlight the beautiful scenery and historic architecture of the Havana and Quincy area.

The French term “plein air” means in the open air and refers to the practice of painting entire finished pictures out of doors. From the bucolic countryside to historic downtown districts of Havana and Quincy, artists will be invited to capture the beauty of North Florida, “A very different Florida.”

More than 20 artists will be painting at several locations in the Quincy Historic District on Thursday, May 16 and in Havana on Friday, May 17. There will be a “Quick Draw” Paint-Out on Saturday morning at the Havana Springs Resort.
